Overview

ICU Map ("we," "us," or "this site") publishes general educational content about the ICU. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, and how it's used. We don't require you to create an account or submit personal health information to read this site.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how many people visit and how they use it. This can include information such as your approximate location (based on IP address), browser and device type, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. This information is generally aggregated and not used to personally identify you.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to track aggregate traffic to this site — for example, total visits and which pages are read most often. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, browser and device type, and pages viewed. We use this traffic data for our own internal purposes, including to describe the site's reach to potential advertisers and sponsors. We do not currently run Google AdSense or any third-party ad network on this site, and we don't use analytics data to build advertising profiles about individual visitors or to serve personalized ads.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking on this and other sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's cookie-blocking settings.

If our advertising practices change in the future — for example, if we work with an ad network or advertising partner — we'll update this policy to describe what that involves and what choices you have.

Information you provide directly

If you email us at the address listed on our About page, we'll have access to your email address and whatever you choose to include in that message. We use this only to respond to you and don't add it to a mailing list or share it with third parties.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies won't prevent you from reading the site's content.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page occasionally as the site's data or advertising practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
